The Sovereign Vessel

The government of Israel being a tool in this world can either be used to draw in the light of Mashiach or if left unattached to its source will ultimately fall into a state of tum’ah. This where it rests now. It lies soaked in the impurities of the world of Edom from where it came forth. Edom, the last exile of the Nation of Israel has realized that it’s time is short and so it holds onto the vessel it birthed in 1948, the governmental apparatus of the State of Israel. It is losing the Army and so it is scared that perhaps the source of its hegemony here in the Land of Israel will fall into the hands of Mashiach Ben Yosef, who is uniquely talented to lift the vessel for sovereignty in Israel up out of the impurities of Edom and to prepare it to reveal the true Messianic Kingdom.

This is the current battle. The Army is being drawn into the hands of Mashiach ben Yosef, yet the sovereign is being pulled apart between the minions of the Erev Rav and those working at the behest of Mashiach ben Yosef. The sovereign is indecisive. One day a Zionist, the next day a Leftist, then of course religious, its identity is the Nation and yet it cannot lead, for the forces of the Erev Rav have covered it over.

To Break the Glass or Not to Break it…That is the Question

After Gush Katif many people wanted to abandon the Sovereign, the government to the forces of the Erev Rav, yet this only caused more frustration in the National Camp, which is the vehicle for Mashiach ben Yosef. The more one tried to ignore the Sovereign, the more they were reminded. For the sovereign is still the sovereign and yet we allow it to be ruled by the Erev Rav and the forces of darkness, but that is only what fills the glass. Just like a glass does not become traif, so too the sovereign cannot become traif and so there is no need to break it. To break it would be to go into exile again. The way out is to wrest the vessel for sovereignty from the minions of the Erev Rav and return it to the forces of Mashiach ben Yosef.

Right now both forces find themselves within the vessel, yet the Erev Rav reigns, hiding the Mashiach ben Yosef within its impurity. By helping the forces of Mashiach ben Yosef who have entered the Sovereign redeem it from the clutches of the Erev Rav, we will witness the Malchut beit Yosef reveal itself in all its glory and receive the full geulah by way of rachamim. If we desist and let the Erev Rav take full control of the Sovereign then the forces of Mashiach ben Yosef will be thrown from potential leadership into a state of exile (death) and we will experience worse birthpangs on the way to Geulah Sleimah, heaven forbid.

We need to rise up to take what is ours and to expunge the impurities from our Land and our Souls.

I just posted this at my other blog Israel Rising.

Land of Light

City Upon The HillAs an observant Jew I strive to redeem and to raise up my surroundings.  From the morning when I awake to the evening when I go to sleep, the movements of my body (including “the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart”) act as the means to achieve this purpose.

Coming Home, Realizing the Authentic Self

More than this I am driven by the fact that the Jewish people have returned to their roots, to their homeland, the Land of Israel.  The redemption is a movement home. This is to discover self authenticity and realization within ourselves and our people. Yet, there is a sense that things are out of reach for us and there is an inability to grasp the innate desire that lies within to pull ourselves up and out of the impure concepts we have gathered in exile.  The Land of Israel is our way out.  It allows us to use our days to uplift our personal world and to steer the National trajectory.

Coming home and becoming an Israelite is not easy.  It involves a period of abandonment of the past as well as an allowance of the natural desire to cleave to the root of creation within each remember of the Nation to drive oneself to natural and authentic “Jewish Observance.”

In exile we formed a fear of Heaven, yet in our homeland we can focus that same energy to making a perfect State, G-dly Kingdom, “A City Upon the Hill,” in its proper location.

This Land is our Land

Four of our brethren were snuffed out Last Night

Four eternal souls ascended to Heaven

Am Yisrael keeps losing parts of its whole

And our enemies our salivating waiting to attack and dismember us

This Land is our Land

We need to Scream!

This Land is our Land

Given to us by the Creator of the World

This is not about terror nor animals that only appear to human

Who rejoice over killing pregnant women and orphaning their children

This is about the Truth

This is Land is our Land

and this Torah is eternal

and so is Am Yisrael

We are not going any where

We will grow and spread West, East, North, and South

In the Land of our fathers with the Torah of our Mothers

Am Yisrael is forever, the hand of G-d and the treasured of the Creator

We are the light of the Almighty in this dark world

Our Nation is the fire that burns in the darkest of times and our Torah is our guide for all time

Rosh Chodesh AV 5770

So tonight is Rosh Chodesh Av 5770.  There has been a lot of talk out there in Geulah blogland on this date and I must say the numbers are very convincing.  If one wants a good run down go to Mystical Paths.  As far as I am concerned we have been in the twilight of the final redemption ever since Sept. 11th 2001.  Not because of the attacks on the World Trade Center themselves, but rather the results of those attacks and what they unleashed on the world.

The nearly 9 years since that event has paid witness to a world so different than in the ensuing decades.  We have witnessed international wars, explosion in micro technology, environmental disasters, and the rise of global forces so divorced from previous conceptual models that the world seems to be in a raging chaotic storm.

This is not to say we  have not witnessed earth shattering events in previous times, but I believe the past years have culminated in something akin to turning the world upside down. The global order of the 20th century so fixed in our mind was shattered after Sept. 11th 2001.

The wars between America and Afghanistan and Iraq that followed were not only devastating to the Middle East, but they shattered America’s cultural and economic fabric by puncturing holes in its inflated belief in its impervious state of existence.

More importantly is the meaning behind the wars, the fall of the economy, and the natural disasters (all culminating with the election of Barak Hussein Obama) and of course the closing in on the finality of the world as we understand it to be.

First of all I do believe as many others in Moshiach blog sphere do that this is the end times.  Yes, there are those who feel it is imminent and have calculated and calculated ascribing every world event to Moshiach’s certain arrival.  So far many of these calculations have come and gone. Many thought George Bush was Gog and that the State of Israel would fall apart and so on and so forth.  What HaShem entered us into after 9/11 was a period when all previous conceptions of the world were shredded.  This is Gog U’Magog.  The war between The West and Iraq/Afghanistan/Iran is the war of Gog U’Magog.  Why and what about coming to Jerusalem?  The war was initiated by George Bush and this war in fact was and is focused on the same general region since 9/11.  After a deeper look into how Jewish sources views this region, one concludes it is reasonably “the Land of Magog”  as Areah Kaplan did.

During this war which started on Shemini Atzeret 5761 we have witnessed Earth changing events from an environmental perspective, political perspective, and economic perspective.  This is a series of wars initiated by George “Gog” Bush and they have seen no sign of ending.

But what about Jerusalem? Aren’t the nations supposed to come against Jerusalem.  Yes.  So far they have decided during this near decade of the War between George “Gog” Bush and the Land of Magog to focus on using the client regime in Israel to dismember and internationalize Jerusalem. One must remember that the prophecies are vague and may be referring to a spiritual war against Jerusalem.  The international events spoken about above help us to identify this spiritual war in order to place it in its proper context.

Tonight, Rosh Chodesh Av 5770 marks the point in time that we as a world have entered the final leg of the spiritual battle of Gog u’Magog, which is the battle to break Am Yisrael’s connection to the Creator as Midrash Esther 7/23 indicates. This may or may not be revealed right away in the physical world, yet we need to be ready with pure faith and a deep connection to HaShem with what awaits very soon.

Fighting Gog u Magog: Each One of Us is A Warrior

Whether or not Gog u Magog, (which is known as the final war before the Moshiach comes) is fully upon us or not, remains a mute point.  When approached from a deeper perspective the Nation of Israel has been involved with this war for quite some time and is now being manifested in the physical as “the New World Order” or “Globalism.”

The midrash on Esther states that Gog u Magog learn from past enemies of the Jewish people who failed to defeat us.  According to the midrash, they decide to challenge our connection to the Creator first before attempting to physically destroy us.

The challenge to our pure faith in the Creator has been building since the enlightenment, but it is clear in the modern era it is total.  We have become a religion,  a dogma, stripped of the inherent truth and simple realization of the Creator’s presence found throughout our reality.

Rebbe Nachman points out that each member of the Nation of Israel is found in a spiritual galut with the 70 nations.  The Ari points out that the gematria (numerical value) of Gog u Magog is in fact 70.  Rebbe Nachman is providing us a clue to the final battle and that is each one of us is involved in a personal way with Gog u Magog, which is attempting to strip us from our own personal Jerusalem, i.e. the eternal Jerusalem or connection to G-d found within.  By severing our faith or in Hebrew Emunah, Gog u Magog is attempting to wipe us out for all time and complete their global reign.  We can stop them by reconnecting to the creator and by disconnecting from their global program that I want to deem “Spiritual Holocaust.”

By building our Emunah or faith in the divine providence of the Creator we can defeat our own inner Gog u Magog and ultimately join together to defeat the global Gog u Magog.

Living Where it Happened

Yesterday was the holiday of Shavuot.  Celebrated as the day in which we (the Nation of Israel) received the blueprint of Creation, otherwise known as the Torah. Although this is what the holiday has become, in the Torah itself it is known as the Harvest Holiday and also the Holiday of the First Fruits, both a culmination of 49 days of bringing the Omer offering to the Temple (now a days we count each night instead).  Both of these names connect this holiday to the Land of Israel more than any other holiday in the Torah.

Traditionally, the scroll of Ruth is read on Shavuot and  in doing so we come to understand the story of beginning of the rise of the Nation of Israel’s Messianic King and his Kingship.  Without going into too much detail, Ruth is a convert from the nation of Moav and in being the Great Grandmother of Kind David (pronounced Dawid to be accurate) teaches a beautiful lesson in the role of one’s choice and its national implications.  I am of course referring to Ruth’s choice to enter into the Holy Covenant with the Creator and his People Israel when she didn’t have to.  After all she was a princess of Moav and had no physical motive to join our ranks. Yet join she did, and by doing so she set the stage for our salvation from Philistine control and thus the foundation of the Davidic and Messianic dynasty that not only ruled Israel for nearly half a millenia, but will also return in the future leading the world to a more perfect age.

With all of this being said as I sat in the morning of Shavuot at our table with our daughter, she recounted how she learned some of the book of Ruth in Gan (kindegarden) and so I asked her some questions. One of the interchanges went like this:

“Do you know where Ruth was from?” I asked.

“Moav,” she answered after pausing for a moment.

“Do you know where this is?” I asked.

She shook her head no.  The reason why I asked this question is that our community has a commanding view of the Dead Sea basin and of course the Moav mountains now situated in Jordan.  These mountains are of course the area where Ruth was born and raised before coming to the Land of Israel with her mother in law Naomi. So, I of course told our daughter and pointed in the direction of the mountains that served as the birth place and home of King David’s great grandmother, it’s these mountains that serve as the breathtaking landscape of our entire community and of course our children’s Gan.  She lit up as the story came to life for her.

There is nothing like living where it all happened and of course is happening again.

Halacha: Tools for Revealing the Light of Creation

Many people misunderstand the practices of observant Jews.  From wrapping tefilin (phalacteries) to lighting Shabbat candles, most observers believe that these practices are formed and concretized rules stemming from a sort of archaic neurosis.  Nothing can be further from the truth.

The purpose of Creation is to reveal the Creator hidden within.  This light of the Creator hidden within each facet of Creation can only be revealed through thought, speech, or action. By actively undertaking this “partnership” with the Almighty to reveal the Creator’s light, we become a partner in Creation and thus activate the tiny spark of the Creator held deep within us.  The more light we reveal around us, the more light is revealed within us.  In essence the practices or in Hebrew Halacha we do, are a collection of tools meant to reveal the light of the Creator. In doing so we make the creation and ourselves a vessel for this light.  Afterall the numerical value of Halacha is Clee, which translated to English means tool.
